Health Requirements
Puppies 16 weeks+ AND adults:
Your puppy has lived in your home for at least two weeks
Rescue dogs must have been in your home for one month
Two or more vaccinations for distemper and parvo This is often listed on your receipt as a combo shot “DA2P” or similar
Rabies vaccination as required by law. Vaccination for bordetella (kennel cough) is required and should be given at least 5 days prior to your evaluation/trial day. We require monthly oral or topical flea and tick preventive.
Your pet must be revaccinated for bordetella every 6 months.
A negative fecal test as performed by your veterinarian (not the breeder/rescue’s veterinarian). Please bring a copy of the test result; a receipt confirming that the test was performed is not proof of freedom from parasites.
Fecal test must be repeated every 6 months; copy of test results is required
We also strongly recommend yearly vaccination/booster for Leptospirosis and Lyme, year-round monthly administration of heartworm preventive, and discussion of pros and cons of canine influenza vaccine with your veterinarian.
For families that choose a minimal vaccination protocol for their canines, we require proof of a titer test showing a positive ELISA result of at least >=1:80 indicating probable protective immunity
We encourage clients to work with their veterinarians to alter their pets
We require campers who participate in the off-leash socialization components of our program be spayed or neutered by the age of one year
